First United Methodist
Church of St. Johns
Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
About Us
Located in the heart of St. Johns, Michigan, our church is a welcoming community of faith where people of all ages and backgrounds can grow in their relationship with Christ. Rooted in the Methodist tradition, we’re committed to biblical teaching, heartfelt worship, and serving our neighbors with compassion. Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or looking for a church to call home, you’ll find a place to belong here.
Our Mission
Our mission is to love God, love people, and serve the world. Rooted in the grace of Jesus Christ, we are a community committed to growing in faith, building meaningful relationships, and making a lasting impact—both within our walls and far beyond them. Through worship, discipleship, and service, we seek to live out the Gospel in everyday life.
Service Times
We’d love to have you join us for worship! Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:00 AM and includes uplifting music, biblical teaching, and a welcoming community. Sunday School for all ages starts at 9:00 AM. Whether you’ve been attending church your whole life or you’re walking through the doors for the first time, you’ll find a place to belong here.
Ministries
At the heart of our church is a commitment to growing in faith together—through worship, learning, service, and community. Our ministries are how we live that out, creating spaces for people of all ages and walks of life to encounter God, build meaningful relationships, and make a difference in the world. Whether you’re just beginning your faith journey or have been walking with Christ for years, there’s a place for you here to grow, serve, and belong.
Children’s Ministry
A joyful, welcoming environment where kids learn about God’s love through age-appropriate lessons, worship, and activities. We’re passionate about helping children build a foundation of faith that lasts a lifetime.
Youth Ministry
Helping middle and high school students grow in their relationship with Christ through connection, service, and real conversation. Weekly gatherings, retreats, and mission opportunities create space for faith to come alive.
Adult Discipleship
From Bible studies and small groups to Sunday school and seasonal classes, we offer spaces for adults to grow in faith, ask big questions, and walk together in community.
Missions & Outreach
Rooted in John Wesley’s call to “do all the good you can,” we serve both locally and globally through food drives, service projects, and partnerships that bring practical help and hope.
